You know, I keep thinking we're virtually finished, but then... we're not. Not quite. Such is the life of an #indiedev!
We've decided, based on our own views and feedback from testers, to add a short tutorial mode to the game. It's sometimes hard to remember considering the three of use have probably sixty or more years of adventure game playing behind us, that there are actually people in this world who have never played a traditional point and click adventure game. With AGs already being one of the least commercially viable game genres, especially to a small indie studio with little to no clout in the gaming world, it really makes sense to try to make the game appeal to as many people as possible.
The thing is, I thought we could get away with a quick and dirty hack to make this Tutorial Mode, but it wouldn't actually be a very good addition to the game at all. So my partners in crime have convinced me to do this a better way, even though it will take a bit longer (still shouldn't take more than a couple of days I guess, but when I sense a release is imminent, I get very itchy to make that release happen as quickly as possible!).
Anyway, that's where we currently are - once the Tutorial Mode is made and checked, we'll send the final PC / Linux builds to our testers on a "BREAK IT IF YOU CAN!" basis, and hope that they can't. (Or at least, hope that if they can't, no-one else can either.)
It really WILL be soon, folks! The full Verse One in all its Trollish glory.
(Other news - we have interviews coming up in an Italian website - I forget which one but I'll let you know! - and also on JustAdventure. Both should be posted soon.)
