Development News and Music

I thought I'd end 2011 with a bit more news about Troll Song.  Tino and I are both slaving away at The Journey of Iesir (development thread on the AGS forums) and Tino has also been working on completing his game Unga Needs Mumba  (development thread on the AGS forums), which is due for release early in 2012.  What with reviewing, blogging, playing some of the fab games that have come out (incidentally, if you haven't checked out Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back, you really should), and that tricky, time-consuming stuff called real life, we haven't really had much time to work on Troll Song - although some progress is still being made with the character animation, and I'm sure that after Unga Needs Mumba has been released, production will move along more smoothly.  I think we're looking at some time in Q2 of 2012 for the first episode to be released.  I have come up with various ideas to speed up the development process, so I don't think there'll be a problem.

I'm also happy to announce that the project now has a musician.  A chap who modestly goes by the name of King Seamus is going to do one original piece for the game, and I've already selected 2 of his existing scores that I feel would fit the game perfectly - you can actually hear them now if you want, head over to http://www.kingseamus.com/ and listen to tracks 2 and 3.  They both sound really right to me to convey the deep cave locations that will feature in the first episode, "Completely Stoned".  So really, all the pieces are in place now - it's just a case of getting the work done and putting all together.  Hopefully, I'll have more news for you soon...

Quick question too - it's going to be a fairly short game, so I'm not sure if a playable demo is really going to be worth doing.  Any thoughts on this?  Leave a comment here or PM me on the AGS boards.
